  • Set your leadership goals. If you are an Ambassador or above…how many new leaders are you planning to add over the incentive period? How (So this all sounds great but how are you going to do it?):
Plan out your Strategy
  • Write down your current why. Why would this extra money mean so much to you? What would you and your family do with it?
  • Set your recruiting goal. How many new team members are you going to sign up each campaign? Tip: Go for an aggressive goal because not all of them will submit that $100 order and qualify.
  • Use the attached worksheets to track your bonus payout. There’s no greater reward than to see hard work paying off. Keep track of your accomplishments and successful appointments on the tracking sheets so you know just how much money you are going to earn.
  • Learn the requirements of the incentive but don’t get too caught up in the details if they overwhelm you. Spend as much time on recruiting activities as you do on sales activities. Do your best to talk to everyone you know about the Avon opportunity…you never know who might be interested.

Remember to offer the opportunity as much as you are offering the catalog. If you were a waitress at a restaurant, you wouldn’t stop asking if your customers wanted refills if you came across your first “no.” Keep offering the Avon opportunity, the bigger you build your team…the more likely you will find your gems.

How to Make Money Selling Avon: There are many things I love about selling Avon like having a flexible schedule, being my own boss, and being a work-at-home mom. In my opinion, the biggest advantage of being an Avon Representative is that my paycheck is directly reflected by how hard I work meaning the more I grow my business, the more money I make as an Avon Representative. In order to make more money selling Avon, I recommend to my team members to take full advantage of all three areas of opportunity: 1) selling Avon face-to-face, 2) joining Avon leadership by starting their own team of Avon Representatives, and 3) marketing their Avon business online. Not only will building your business in three different areas help you make the most money with Avon but it will also give you the most stability in your Avon business. In addition to making good money selling Avon, you can also earn great rewards like trips, cash bonuses, and more fantastic gifts through Avon incentives and the President’s Recognition Program. When you take advantage of Avon’s Jump Start program through leadership, you can earn over $8,800 in cash bonuses for reaching certain milestone titles within a given time frame. The iPad Air and $750 bonus check are awards I received last year through Avon leadership incentives. When you reach the third level of the Avon leadership program, Advanced Unit Leader, you become eligible for even more bonuses, bigger leadership checks, and more exciting incentives.

Make More Money with Avon Leadership

Make More Money Selling AvonIf you are an Avon Representative, hopefully by now you are very familiar with the term, “leadership.” This means you have started your own Avon team by signing new Avon Representatives to sell Avon products. Leadership doesn’t stop with recruiting. In order to be a successful Avon leader, you must also train, lead, and motivate your team. The more your team sells, the more money you make with Avon leadership. And the more you help the Avon Representatives on your team build their teams, the higher you will move up in title and in return, the more percentage and money you will make off of your team sales.

I have experienced great results from finding new Avon team members online! The majority of my team of over 170 Avon Representatives across the USA has been built through online marketing and online appointments. My number of online Avon appointments in 2014 was 183. Avon Team Momentum, led by me (Emily Seagren) is currently spread out across 36 states. This is one of the great advantages of the online appointment, you can have team members all across the country.

Leadership too takes time to build. You’ll see by the numbers below that it has taken me years of consistent recruiting and team building activities to produce results. I didn’t start tracking my numbers until 2012 but I also didn’t focus much on leadership until 2013. I first became a Unit Leader in 2009 and didn’t move in title until 2014. For almost 2 years now, I have spent 1/3 of my time focusing on my leadership business and as a result, have titled to Executive Unit Leader.

  • 2012:
    • Title: Unit Leader
    • Total Unit Sales: $224,668
    • Leadership Earnings: $1,529
    • Ending # of Team Members:  38
  • 2013:
    • Title: Unit Leader
    • Total Unit Sales: $379,126 (increase of $154,458 vs. 2012)
    • Leadership Earnings: $3,099 (increase of $1,570 vs. 2012)
    • Ending # of Team Members: 130 (92 more team members vs. 2012)
  • 2014:
    • Title: Executive Unit Leader (earned at AUL level the majority of the year)
    • Total Unit Sales: $513,687 (increase of $134,561 vs. 2013)
    • Leadership Earnings: $7,919 (increase of $4,820 vs. 2013)
    • Ending # of Team Members: 176 (46 more team members vs. 2013)

What are the Different Levels of Avon Leadership?

In order to move in title, you must meet all of the requirements in the same campaign. When you advance in title, you have the opportunity to earn a cash bonus, leads, and nested Avon Representatives depending on which level you achieve and as long as you are still eligible for the Jump Start program. You also earn a bigger percentage payout on your team sales the higher you advance in title.

Level 1 – Unit Leader Requirements: 

  1. Personal Award Sales: $200
  2. Number of 1st Generation Orders: 3 Orders
  3. Total Unit Sales: $1,200 (includes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen sales plus your personal sales)

Level 2 – Unit Leader Plus Requirements: 

  1. Personal Award Sales: $200
  2. Number of 1st Generation Orders: 8 Orders
  3. Titled Sales Leaders: 1
  4. Total Unit Sales: $3,000 (includes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen sales plus your personal sales)

Level 3 – Advanced Unit Leader Requirements: 

  1. Personal Award Sales: $250
  2. Number of 1st Generation Orders: 12 Orders
  3. Titled Sales Leaders: 2
  4. Total Unit Sales: $4,500 (includes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen sales plus your personal sales)

Level 4 – Executive Unit Leader Requirements: 

  1. Personal Award Sales: $300
  2. Number of 1st Generation Orders: 20 Orders
  3. Titled Sales Leaders: 4
  4. Total Unit Sales: $17,500 (includes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen sales plus your personal sales)

Level 5 – Senior Executive Unit Leader Requirements: 

  1. Personal Award Sales: $350
  2. Number of 1st Generation Orders: 20 Orders
  3. Titled Sales Leaders: 6 titled, 1 of whom is an EUL or above
  4. Total Unit Sales: $35,000 (includes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen sales plus your personal sales)

Level 6 – National Senior Executive Unit Leader Requirements: 

  1. Personal Award Sales: $350
  2. Number of 1st Generation Orders: 20 Orders
  3. Titled Sales Leaders: 6 titled, 2 of whom are EUL or above
  4. Total Unit Sales: $150,000 (includes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen sales plus your personal sales)

How much Money can you make with Avon Leadership?

Below are average annual earnings from 2013. Your earnings and results may vary. Since Unit Leader Plus and National Senior Executive Unit Leader are new titles in 2014, there is not yet data for these titles.

  • Unit Leader: $1,500
  • Advanced Unit Leader: $7,500
  • Executive Unit Leader: $19,500
  • Senior Executive Unit Leader: $79,000

Avon Leadership and Recruiting Quick Tips

  1. Use the power of 3 everyday in person and online. Connect with 3 new people and talk about your Avon business. You don’t have to come off as pushy or give a sales pitch when talking about Avon…just discuss your experience and why you love selling Avon. People will sense your excitement and want to become a part of your team.
  2. Offer 3 opportunities to every person you touch with your Avon business: 1) to buy from you face-to-face, 2) to sign up on your team, and 3) to buy from you online.
  3. Spend as much time as you do on selling activities on recruiting and leadership…you’ll be amazed how fast your team grows.
  4. Include your Avon Representative Reference code with instructions on how to sign up online on all of the materials you hand out including brochures.
  5. Recognize your team for sales, recruiting, and achieving incentives. A little bit of recognition goes a long way. Recognize your team through phone calls, emails, and on social media.
  6. Write blogs about the Avon opportunity. You never know what someone might be searching the Internet for and come across your article.
  7. Use the Avon incentives to get your team excited about growing their businesses.
  8. Provide your team members with tools and knowledge about how to recruit and build their team, don’t just tell them that they need to do it.
  9. Talk about the President’s Club and leadership often with your team. If you write a newsletter for your team, be sure to include information about the President’s Recognition Program and leadership each time. Work with your team members who are interested in leadership and those who are selling $200 or more per campaign.
  10. Come up with your own incentives for your team. I have an incentive for everyone who moves in title to Unit Leader…when they advance, I mail them out the “View from the Top” book.

Avon Representative Tips and Tools

Depending on how much time you have to dedicate to your Avon business, try implementing 1 – 3 new sales or recruiting activities per week. Not every method is going to work the same for every Avon Representative so be sure to repeat activities that have been successful for you and continue to do the same successful marketing activities every campaign.
